Dog Policy

We do allow well behaved dogs on board for our wildlife trips. However, this is always at the skipper’s discretion as passenger safety is of the upmost importance. If any dogs behave in an unsafe manner they will not be allowed on the boats, again this is at the skipper’s discretion to do so. Dogs must be kept on lead at all times. If you are planning on bringing your dog please tick this when booking. If you have any questions, please contact us on 01496 300 129.

Islay Sea Adventures made the decision to be dog friendly on our Wildlife Trips to allow as many residents and tourists to come on one of our trips as possible, we don’t want anyone to miss out! After all the West Coast of Scotland is the perfect place to come on a dog-friendly holiday! But don’t worry, we have lots in place to minimise the risk of wildlife disturbance. Our boats are fitted with high sides meaning a lot of dogs can’t see over the side to see the wildlife. We also have an indoor area for any nervous doggy travellers to rest in. Only well-behaved dogs can come on our trips, and no more than two at a time. With a large deck space, there is plenty of space for our passengers and dogs to move around safely.

If you have a fear of dogs, or an allergy, please let us know as soon as possible.

Dogs unfortunately cannot come on our fishing trips due to their safety because of the added hazards. With the extra danger of fishing rods and hook, passenger safety is priority so we cannot allow dogs on the trip.

Unfortunately, we do not allow dogs onboard the boats for the Islay Seafood Special trips as food and drinks are served (unless booked as a private charter). We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

We also do not allow dogs on our Corryveckan trips. These trips are often on the open RIB over a long period of time. This can be noisy, windy and stressful for dogs with limited space to move around. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

Guide dogs and Assistance dogs are an exception and will be welcomed aboard our boats.
